Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Paper towels
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds fresh salmon fillet, skin removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for extra heat
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for finishing

Instructions

  • Pat salmon cubes completely dry with paper towels. This ensures crispy results.
  • In a large bowl, toss dried salmon with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne until evenly coated.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes.
  • Arrange seasoned salmon in a single layer in air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces for air circulation.
  • Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking basket halfway through, until golden and internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • While salmon cooks, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth.
  • Transfer hot salmon bites to a serving bowl and drizzle with bang bang sauce. Toss gently to coat.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cut salmon into uniform 1-inch pieces for even cooking
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket - cook in batches if needed
  • Pat salmon very dry before seasoning for maximum crispiness
  • Sauce can be made up to 3 days ahead and stored in refrigerator
  • For extra crispy results, lightly spray salmon with oil before air frying
