Ingredients

For the Chicken Mixture:

  • 2 cups shredded chicken use leftover, rotisserie, or cooked chicken breasts
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese half a standard block
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or mozzarella for a milder flavor
  • 2 tablespoons green onions finely chopped (optional for extra flavor)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Crescent Roll Assembly:

  • 1 8 oz can refrigerated crescent roll dough (Pillsbury or any brand)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter for brushing the tops
  • Optional garnish: additional shredded cheese or chopped parsley

For the Cheesy Sauce (Optional but Delicious):

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the Chicken Mixture

  • In a large bowl, combine:
  • Shredded chicken
  • Softened cream cheese
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Green onions (if using)
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Mix everything until fully combined and creamy. This will be your chicken filling.

Step 3: Assemble the Crescent Rolls

  • Roll out the crescent dough and gently tear it into triangles following the pre-cut lines.
  • Spoon a generous tablespoon of the chicken filling onto the base of each triangle.
  • Roll the dough gently, starting at the wide end, over the chicken mixture and toward the point.
  • Tuck in the sides if needed to seal the filling inside.

Step 4: Arrange and Brush

  • Place each chicken stuffed crescent roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Lightly brush the tops with melted butter to create a beautiful golden crust.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake in the hot oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the rolls turn golden and are cooked through.
  • Optional Step: Make the Cheesy Sauce
  • While the rolls bake, you can prepare a quick cheesy sauce:
  • In a small saucepan, heat cream of chicken soup, milk, and shredded cheddar cheese over medium heat.
  • Stir until the sauce is smooth and warm.
  • Once baked, drizzle the cheesy sauce over the rolls or serve it on the side for dipping.

Step 6: Serve

  • Serve the rolls warm, straight from the oven. Sprinkle with chopped green onions or parsley for an extra pop of color and flavor.
