Air Fryer
Mandoline or sharp knife
Small mixing bowl
- 2 medium firm bananas slightly underripe works best
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon melted coconut oil or neutral cooking spray
- 1 pinch salt optional
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
Slice the peeled bananas into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
Coat the banana slices lightly with coconut oil on both sides, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over them.
Arrange slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
Air fry at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping once halfway through.
Rest the chips on a wire rack for 5 minutes before serving. They will crisp up further as they cool.
- Use firm, slightly underripe bananas for the best crunch.
- Do not overlap slices in the basket - work in batches if needed.
- Chips continue to crisp as they cool, so do not overbake.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
