Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups frozen sweet peas thawed and well drained
  • 8 slices bacon cooked until crisp and crumbled
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup red onion finely diced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Thaw the peas until cold but not icy, then drain well.
  • Cook the bacon until crisp, cool it, and crumble it.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • In a large bowl, combine the peas, bacon, cheddar, and red onion.
  • Fold in the dressing gently until everything is coated.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

    >Drain the peas well for the best texture. >Add bacon just before serving if you want it extra crisp. >Taste after chilling and adjust salt or vinegar as needed.
