Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x9‑inch baking dish
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage mild or spicy
  • 16 ounces sour cream full fat
  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese cubed or shredded
  • 4 ounces muenster cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x9 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into small crumbles, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain off all excess grease.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage with sour cream, Velveeta, muenster cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and dried parsley. Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the dip is hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette.

Notes

  • Drain the sausage thoroughly to prevent a greasy dip
  • Cut Velveeta into small cubes for faster, smoother melting
  • Let the dip rest 5 minutes after baking so it sets slightly
  • Serve warm for the best melty texture
  • Double the recipe for large gatherings because it goes fast
