Main Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup real chocolate or dark chocolate chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup cold milk or plant-based milk such as oat milk or almond milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • as desired whipped cream optional for topping

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the chopped real chocolate, cocoa powder, and chocolate syrup. Heat gently over low heat, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and allow the chocolate mixture to cool to room temperature to avoid melting the ice too quickly.
  • In a blender, add the cooled chocolate mixture, cold milk, and ice cubes. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Fill serving glasses with extra ice cubes and pour the blended iced chocolate drink over the ice.
  • Top with whipped cream and chocolate flakes or cacao nibs, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.
