For the Dough (if making from scratch)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¾ cup warm water about 110°F
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Or use 1 ball of store-bought pizza dough if preferred.
For the Sauce
- ½ cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of red pepper flakes optional, for heat
For the Toppings
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup provolone cheese optional, for extra richness
- 15 –20 slices of pepperoni
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese optional
- Olive oil for brushing the crust
- Fresh basil or parsley optional, for garnish
Step 2: Prepare the Dough
If using homemade dough:
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
If using store-bought dough:
Let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes to relax before shaping.
Step 3: Shape the Dough
Lightly flour your work surface.
Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch round or your preferred shape.
Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper or a lightly oiled baking sheet.
Step 4: Add the Sauce
Spread ½ cup pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder for extra flavor.
Step 6: Add the Pepperoni
Step 7: Bake the Pizza
Slide the pizza onto the hot stone (or place the baking sheet in the oven).
Bake for 10–13 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
Step 8: Finish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes.
Brush the crust with olive oil if desired.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, slice, and serve hot!
