Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Or use 1 ball of store-bought pizza dough if preferred.

For the Sauce

  • ½ cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes optional, for heat

For the Toppings

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup provolone cheese optional, for extra richness
  • 15 –20 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Olive oil for brushing the crust
  • Fresh basil or parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you're using a pizza stone, place it inside the oven now so it heats up fully.

Step 2: Prepare the Dough

  • If using homemade dough:
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • If using store-bought dough:
  • Let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes to relax before shaping.

Step 3: Shape the Dough

  • Lightly flour your work surface.
  • Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch round or your preferred shape.
  • Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper or a lightly oiled baking sheet.

Step 4: Add the Sauce

  • Spread ½ cup pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder for extra flavor.

Step 5: Layer the Cheese

  • Top the sauce with shredded mozzarella and a few slices of provolone if using.
  • Add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for a savory finish.

Step 6: Add the Pepperoni

  • Layer pepperoni slices evenly across the top. Feel free to use your desired amount.

Step 7: Bake the Pizza

  • Slide the pizza onto the hot stone (or place the baking sheet in the oven).
  • Bake for 10–13 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.

Step 8: Finish and Serve

  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes.
  • Brush the crust with olive oil if desired.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, slice, and serve hot!
