Small bowl for egg wash
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 3 cups pepper jack cheese shredded
- 4-5 fresh jalapeños seeded and finely diced
- 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water
- cooking spray or melted butter for brushing
- ranch or spicy mayo for serving
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Unroll crescent dough and separate into individual triangles.
In a bowl, mix pepper jack cheese, diced jalapeños, and cream cheese until combined.
Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, and onion powder. Stir well.
Place 2 tablespoons filling at wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll toward point, tucking sides in.
Place rolls on baking sheets, point side down. Brush with egg wash and spray with cooking spray.
Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
- Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid eye irritation
- Pat jalapeños dry before mixing to prevent soggy filling
- Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking
- Freeze unbaked bites for up to 2 months, bake from frozen adding 3-4 minutes
